Ralph

The du Pré Guitars Ralph is a TeleŽ-type guitar with a twist and the not-so-secret weapon of a Bare Knuckle BKP90 pickup in the neck position. The combination of this powerful but clear and punchy pickup, the Bare Knuckle Yardbird pickup at the bridge and the usual snap and twang of a good TeleŽ gives this guitar an enviable and uncompromising tone and feel. This is a workhorse guitar with everyday playability but a bite that will have your hand off if you're not careful.

Pickups Bareknuckle BKP90 and Bareknuckle Yardbird single coil
BKP90: "Alnico II magnets with medium output. The magnets and special windings deliver just the right balance of power and vintage sound - rich and full with trademark smooth mid range." Yardbird: "based on a hot vintage spec of scatterwound plain enamel coils together with special Alnico IV hand bevelled magnets. The tone is hot enough to drive an amp with plenty of top end sizzle yet still oozes beautiful clean Tele twang". This choice of pickups was personally recommended for this guitar by Tim Mills of Bareknuckle pickups.
Controls 1 Volume and 1 Tone,3 position pickup selector
Logarhythmic pots are used to ensure the full range of the control is usable. Standard T-style controls. The pickup and control cavities are properly earthed and heavily shielded with thick copper shielding tape to all but eliminate interference and hum.
Bridge and tail piece T-style ashtray with 3 brass saddles
This Wilkinson made bridge has angled saddles to compensate for the compromised intonation on normal straight vintage style saddles.
