The du Pré Guitars Contraband Bass has so much growl and such a devastatingly heavy thump that it should be locked up. It is tuned down to an A, keeping the pleasing aesthetic and familiar feel of a vintage bass whilst giving you the low range of a 5 string bass but without the ungainly neck width. Everything is designed towards getting the most punch for your pound with nothing left to chance.

Body 2 piece mahogany
For the warmest fattest tones.

Controls 2 Volume and 1 Tone
Logarhythmic pots are used to ensure the full range of the control is usable. A RS Guitar Caps capacitor makes the tone control very dynamic. Twin volume controls let find that jazz bass sweet spot for devastating punch and growl.
